Dog Run

I'm sad to report that we've given up on potty training Bubs because the anxiety of us leaving him while we're at work hasn't gotten any better.

Failed attempts:
  • Positive Reinforcement (still goes when we're not around)
  • Wikiwags (too expensive)
  • Baby diapers (slip off)
  • Crate Training (pee and poop mess!)
  • Limiting areas in the house (baby gates are too short)
Lucky for us, our carpet is a nice shade of mocha that hides dirt and stains very well, but we're still tired of having to black light search the house for urine stains and clean up the stains, not to mention he has broken 2 sets of blinds in the kitchen window, spilled a cup of coffee off of the dining room table, jumped into the shower and broke tops off shampoo bottles, and keeps jumping up on the counter.

My uncle had a dog run at his house, and my cousin had built one similarly at his house. We decided to give this a shot ourselves. On the side of our house, we decided to build a fence to segregate an area for Bubs. We would love for him to have the whole use of our backyard, but the back fence is so low that we're afraid he would jump over if he saw an animal and it's not too far from  the freeway. We went to The Home Depot and built a fence over the weekend. The bf did a great job!
