I consider myself a dog person, but I find that there are other dog people out there and I find some of them a little weird, but then again, people think I'm weird too.
At my old apt, a lady would walk while pushing her dog was in a stroller.- I considered that the dog might have an injury, health problem, etc. but I lived in my complex for years and she had been carting her dog around for all the years I was there, so it makes me think that her dog is perfectly fine and that she just chooses to push a stroller.
I was at an event and a lady saw me trying on dog jackets on my friends dog, and she asked ME "Does your dog get cold?"- You can clearly see that my friend that owns the calm dog, is holding the leash while Bub's is all wild and pulling the leash I'm holding. Also, the jacket we were trying was a novelty one.. not for warmth.. weirdo
I also see various ladies at Target or Walgreens holding their dress-wearing-dogs in purses / holding a pink rhinestone studded leash while they're trying on shoes or shopping for toilet paper. Chihuahuas in dresses are not my type of cute.
In everyone's defense, my habits for Bubs might be slightly strange or excessive, but I try to compensate for his behavior and personality. None of his behavioral problems are his own fault; it is because of how he was trained as a puppy / lack of conditioning. Bubs was always with someone in the same room as them from the time was brought home until he was 4-5 years old; he was never exposed to being alone, so when it happens now (almost everyday) he gets severe separation anxiety. On top of that, he wasn't properly house trained, so he carried these traits to our new home. I feel bad that he is alone all day long because when I get home, he's so pent up with excitement that someone is finally home to see him, he's jumping and crazy and can't even sit still for you to pet him. We've tried crate training and letting him run loose around the house, but neither has been 100% successful. On my days off, I try to limit his alone time as much as possible and bring him out for walks or ask permission from friends I'm going to visit if he can come with. I understand that I can't bring him everywhere and that sometimes he is going to have to be alone, but why do it if I don't really have to? I opt not to go to things that he can't join me unless it's something I really really want to go to. I know that some of my friends don't get it and think "he's just a dog" but I don't think it works that way. It's not fair for him to love me unconditionally, but I get to choose to love him only when it's convenient for me; imagine if someone did that to you. Having a dog is a choice and a commitment that you make.
So if you want to spoil your dog by eliminating steps, dress your dog in dresses, consider that he's cold, or even opt out to go to places b/c he/she can't come, HAVE AT IT! Just don't be a jerk to others; follow laws and rules or ASK before bringing your dog somewhere.

Upset Stomach
I was sick with an upset stomach from Wednesday evening to Sunday morning. It was very horrific and I'll leave out the gassly, yes lots of gas, details (pun intended). I don't know what was the source of my sickness, but it wasn't fun. I actually called into work sick one day because I prefer using my home restroom than the stalls at my office.
According to Web MD there are many causes of diarrhea, but the largest concern for me was dehydration. I've fainted in the past due to dehydration and it's not fun. So, if you ever have liquid bowel movements, please replenish your body's water.
Basically your body is trying to rid of whatever bug it has and washes out your insides. It's hard to eat anything for fear of it just getting washed out, but I usually eat Saltine crackers. I wish I ate the crackers on day 1, but I didn't want to buy a whole box when I only eat 1/2 a stack of them.
On Sunday morning, I was so sick of being sick that I bought some Imodium, a box of crackers, and Gatorade. That night, I had some lugao (rice porridge) for dinner and I haven't had any diarrhea since.
I was really trying to let my system flush itself out, but I couldn't take it anymore. The Imodium stopped the diarrhea, and the saltine crackers satisfied my hunger for the day and helped keep my stomach calm.
Positive side of this story is, I learned how to cook Lugao from my Bf's mom who is an outstanding cook! I can now have it whenever I want!!

Administrative Professionals Day
Happy Admin Day to all the hard working admins out there! A lot of people don't realize how much we do to keep our managers lives in order; we are the ones doing all the "behind the scenes work" and without us, SOME (not mine thank goodness) managers wouldn't be able to function. Today is a well deserved appreciation day!
I started working as an admin in 2007 and I've had a fare share of mostly good, but some bad managers.
I can say right now, I have two of the best managers anyone could ask for. Not only do they have my back which they have proved time and time again, they are also professional in their requests. They consistently take the time to ask me how am I, thank me for all the work that I help them with, and even "shoot the shit" with me on occasion. I feel appreciated every day by these two and I don't even need a "special" day for them to appreciate me.
The worst manager that I've had was very much like Meryl Streep's character in the Devil Wears Prada. She would stroll in on her cell phone, dump her jacket and purse on my desk before walking to her office. NO JOKE. She would ask me to call and make reservations last minute at high demand restaurants and "use my woman ways" to obtain a reservation; basically asking me to flirt with the guy to get a reservation... sorry lady, J9 don't play that. One day, she showed up to the office with her sick son and asked me to watch him while she was in meetings all morning. I didn't know that Admin work entailed daycare. Thank goodness she decided to jump ship for another company. A few years later, I had moved onto a new group and she called my new manager to make an appointment and didn't even recognize my name! Apparently, things didn't work out for her at the company she jumped ship to and she was trying to get hired back.
I am so lucky where I'm at and I'm feeling the love today from all the people that I work with.
